I'm the French Offroader with Niva

Now i got always a Niva, but also a Patrol 3,3l and i Will buy a UAZ 469.

I found uaz in Germany, with 2,4L.

What are the bad points and good points of this mechanic ?

And if i found 2,9L ?

It's only for offroad of course !

What other benzin or diesel engine can I put ?

Where can I found parts ? Because in France UAZ was never import

A french 4x4 club will give me an 469 with broken PEUGEOT Indenor 4cyl engine, it will be for parts

As long as you do basic maintenance on regular basis (i.e. check it after every ride) the machine is quite reliable and simple to use. The 2,9 petrol engine is found on late models of UAZ 31512, from factory never on 469. The most common diesel conversion is the Peugeot 2,5TD inline 4, but there are also lots of conversions to MB 3 liter diesel. Finding parts will be the tricky point probably for you. Here in Estonia you can find all parts whatever you like, both factory new and used, but none of the dealers is on the net. The most possible way for you would be posting a request in forums and hoping to get response from someone and have a deal. Cést bien de voir un francais sur notre site, surtout un francais qui a coup de foudre pour l`UAZ. Si tu veut achter une UAZ-469 c`est mieux de venir en Estonie. Ici tu va trouver (je peu t`aider) une UAZ-469 d`occasion pour 1000-1500 EUR en bonne etat et tu n`aura pas de problemes de tax - Estonie s`est l`EU.

J'ai trouvé un vendeur en allemagne, il revends des vieux UAZ 469 de l'ex RDA allemande, avec les papiers.

Pour les taxes pas de problčme, mais ici c'est l'homologation

On ne peut homologuer un UAZ QUE en collection si il a plus de 25 ans, et son utilisation est trčs limitée..

The problem in france is not Taxes, but homologation : only UAZ +25 years can be approved here, with collector documents
