The Unimog is nothing short of phenomenal off-road but it will get stuck in mud. It's portal axles mean that ground clearance is so good that the wheels will sink very deep before it gets stuck. When it does, extraction can be impossible with regular winch gear. In these cases, another Unimog or a bulldozer may have to be called to the rescue.
