Hi, finally I had some time to post my mods. I'm not english speaking so I'm sorry for grammar/spelling errors.
bought 2011 DC hilux and on the second day I got stuck
then I installed protection skid plates (fiber), I must say this was bad investment.. year later being in Mongolia those protections got sanded off - basically small pump between tire tracks sanded front protection away during 2 weeks. Täna on siis alumiinium kaitsed all, sh ka originaal paagil.
added fron winch (come up 9000) and 2" fron lift using ironman longer coils - again bad investment, they bended during Mongolian trip in 2012.
2012 in winter it looked like this:
2012 changed rear pumper (AFN) and added snorkel (AFN)
2012 changed front bumper (AFN), ready for Mongolian trip:
in Mongolia it became clear that tires are too small, added 33"
after a while 33" was still too small for me
2013 sent my car to Arctic Trucks in Finland:
also differentials were changed to lower ratio.
so cool car needed cool paint:
currenly I'm preparing for new trip on Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Tjikistan-Kyrgystan.. for this I am:
- installing additional fuel tank
- welding aluminium top-off camper, for sleeping in and protecting things
- air-compressor
- gauges for monitoring: oil-ressure, voltage, tansferbox oil temp, and something more..
- power inverter for charging different things
- subwoofer behind back seat
also I'm thinking about:
- bodylift 2" and 37x12,5 tires... Although I can't decide is it overkill or not.. will it hurt fron IFS or not...

here you can see when wheels are turned left
and this is done underneath
For the upcoming trip on Kazakshtan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgystan I did the following modification:
Selfmade additional fuel tank (about 86 litres) - free flow to original tank:
Self-made top-off camper (main purpose to replace tent at night and water-n-dust free compartment for our stuff:
See kuut muide seisab hetkel niisama koormarihmadega posti otsas
